Sharada Memorial Award set up

Kathmandu, June 20: Social worker Tej Bajra Bajracharya has instituted the Sharada Memorial Award carrying a purse of Rs 50 thousand.

The award would be presented to one scholar completing the degree of Ph. D. from the Lumbini Buddhist University (LBU) on the topics of the Vajrayana Buddhism practised in the Nepal Mandala, philosophy and culture, among other subjects.

The winner of the award would be selected based on the recommendation of the LBU.

LBU vice-chancellor Naresh Man Bajracharya said that the university has been presenting an award carrying a purse of Rs 50 thousand before this. This award is sponsored by Salt Trading Corporation, he said.

The university has been conducting Ph D research since the last five years and so far 11 persons have been awarded Ph D. Likewise, 29 persons have completed Master Level studies from the university.
