IT conference kicks off

A two-day conference on Development of Information Communications has kicked off here today. The conference aims at developing a draft on how to take the nation ahead in increasing the access to Information and communications.

As many as 100 participants from in and outside the country are attending the conference. It is jointly organized by University of Windsor, Canada and Deer Walk Institute of Technology, Kathmandu. The conference coordinator Surendra Adhikari shared that 16 working papers on various aspects of IT and communications would be presented and discussed, along with e-learning technology National Invention Centre.

On the occasion, IT campaigner Mahabir Pun , a Magsaysay Award winner, urged all to support establishment of National Invention Centre saying that it was going to be established aimed at promoting the IT sector in the country.  He is now in the campaign of collecting Rs 500 million from the people's level.

Similarly, Deer Walk Institute of Technology chair Dr Rudra Pandey shared that they would hold discussions on the efforts to reach internet access to all the villages across the county.
