Four arrested for torturing teenage girl

Mahendranagar (Dhanusa), July 6: Police have arrested four persons on the charge of physically abusing a teenager in public.

Kajal Mandal (13), a Grade 8 student at Lohana Babhangama Higher Secondary School of the district was tied up in public and severely beaten up, for allegedly not informing the parents of her classmate, who eloped with her lover.

Local residents Sujit Mandal (42), Jitendra Mandal (20), Ritesh Mandal (18), and Ram Hyridaya Pandit (18), were arrested by the District Police Office, Dhanusa on Wednesday. Nitesh's sister Choti Kumari reportedly eloped with a boy from her locality.

Injured Kajal is undergoing treatment at Janakpur Zonal Hospital.
